Responsibilities
- Develop backend features, domain logic, APIs, and interfaces with PHP 8.x and Symfony.
- Build frontend features and product workflows with TypeScript, React, and TanStack.
- Develop selected Node.js services using TypeScript and Next.js.
- Work on JVM microservices with Java and Kotlin for the e-invoicing domain.
- Migrate data, refactor legacy modules, and modernize the PHP codebase.
- Analyze and debug complex system issues and address scalability problems.
- Own complete projects from conception through reliable operation.
- Work with infrastructure and local Docker-based development environments as needed.
- Use Claude Code extensively as part of the engineering workflow.
Requirements
- Deep, independent senior-level software development experience with PHP and Symfony, including domain design, testing, and performance work in a large long-lived codebase.
- Strong TypeScript and, depending on focus, React experience.
- Confident use of relational databases such as MySQL, including query optimization and data modeling for large data volumes.
- Ability to demonstrate depth in a current technology stack, make strong technical decisions, and learn new systems quickly.
- Fluent German and good English skills.
- Experience with Node.js, data structures and algorithms, distributed systems, and data-intensive applications is advantageous.
- Experience with JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin is advantageous.
- Open-source contributions or public GitHub experiments are advantageous.
