Base Salary

$147k - $197k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software for GM’s Linux-based vehicle networking and communication systems.
  • Work across the networking stack, from drivers through applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to meet vehicle power and reliability requirements.
  • Work with application and cloud teams to ensure end-to-end reliability and performance.
  • Triage complex system-wide networking issues.
  • Develop highly reliable software using practices such as telemetry and observability.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and the complete network stack.
  • Understanding of application-level protocols such as HTTP and how application developers use them.
  • Knowledge of networking on at least one of Linux, Android, or QNX.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of C, C++, or Java.
  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Preferred: knowledge of WiFi, LTE, 5G, Bluetooth, or UWB.
  • Preferred: experience with packet sniffers or protocol analyzers.
  • Preferred: experience shipping highly reliable software using telemetry or observability.
  • Strong writing and collaboration skills.
