Responsibilities
- Own the development and maintenance of high-scale backend services supporting the advertising ecosystem.
- Write and optimize Python and Django code for high-throughput, low-latency APIs and resolve complex concurrency issues.
- Design and tune Big Data workflows and distributed queries using Hive, Flink, Trino, or Spark.
- Optimize analytical SQL queries and database performance, including indexing and partitioning.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to support data fidelity and backend compatibility.
- Implement AI/ML-driven production features such as anomaly detection and predictive data cleaning.
- Provide code reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance to mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of professional backend engineering experience, including significant experience in high-scale environments.
- Mastery of Python and the Django ecosystem, including asynchronous task processing with Celery and Redis.
- Hands-on experience with distributed data-processing frameworks such as Flink, Spark, or Hive.
- Advanced SQL skills and knowledge of query optimization, database internals, indexing, and partitioning.
- Experience handling data drift and optimizing large-scale joins.
- Familiarity with frontend system design, React, and JavaScript event loops is preferred.
- Practical experience or strong interest in deploying AI models into production environments is preferred.
