Responsibilities
- Own model development for a product area from data and training through evaluation, deployment, measurement, and ongoing improvement.
- Fine-tune chat models using real conversation data and build evaluation systems for quality.
- Evaluate, optimize, and deploy image and video models on self-hosted GPUs, improving cost, speed, and quality.
- Investigate and build real-time AI experiences and conversation-understanding detection models at large scale.
- Own product quality, latency, cost, user feedback, and on-call responsibilities for deployed systems serving millions of users.
- Work directly with founders in a flat, high-intensity, in-person engineering environment.
Requirements
- Experience building an impressive technically complex product at real scale or solving a difficult technical problem deeply.
- Strong product judgment, including the ability to talk to users, identify valuable problems, and use evidence to guide decisions.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems from definition through launch and own the outcome afterward.
- Rigorous and pragmatic approach to experimentation, impact measurement, cost, and implementation decisions.
- Clear, concise communication using data and constructive technical challenge.
- Curiosity about AI, new models, and tools; deep machine learning experience is not required.
- Motivation to take substantial ownership and maintain high standards in a high-intensity environment.
