Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of enhancements and new local, networked, cloud-based, and internet-related applications.
- Oversee requirements analysis and guide the translation of requirements into software programming specifications.
- Mentor and coach junior developers and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Oversee coding, integration, testing, debugging, and delivery of software applications.
- Create detailed, user-friendly installation and maintenance documentation and procedures.
- Drive collaboration and communication among users, developers, project managers, business analysts, project teams, and end-users.
- Encourage adoption of emerging technologies and programming languages aligned with the technology roadmap.
- Collaborate with IT and Engineering in a manufacturing and SCADA environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 9 years of application development or application engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 6 years of software development experience, specifically in application development engineering in a manufacturing environment involving SCADA.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby.
- Expertise with software development tools such as Git or Jenkins.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior developers.
- Preferred experience with Ignition 8.1, Perspective, JavaScript, C, SQL, MQTT, JIRA, Oracle, SQL Server, ADX, Snowflake, Redis, PostgreSQL, Tableau, Seeq, Grafana, and Solace event broker.
- Experience in manufacturing environments is essential.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work without now or future employment-visa sponsorship.
