Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of enhancements and new applications for local, networked, cloud-based, and internet-related environments.
- Guide the translation of system requirements into software programming specifications and mentor the engineering team.
- Oversee software development, coding, integration, testing, and debugging while ensuring high-quality solutions.
- Create detailed, user-friendly installation and maintenance documentation and procedures.
- Coordinate collaboration and communication among users, developers, project managers, business analysts, engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Encourage adoption of emerging technologies and programming languages aligned with the organization’s technology roadmap.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software development experience, specifically in application development engineering within a manufacturing or SCADA environment.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby.
- Expertise with software development tools such as Git or Jenkins.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 9 years of application development or application engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor or coach junior developers.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work without now or in the future requiring employment-visa sponsorship.
- Preferred experience with Ignition 8.1, Perspective, Python, Java, JavaScript, C, C++, SQL, and MQTT.
- Working knowledge of JIRA is preferred but not required.
- Preferred knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, ADX, Snowflake, Redis, Postgres, Tableau, Seeq, Grafana, and Solace event broker.
- Knowledge of front-end development, cloud technologies and platforms, data analysis, software development lifecycle, CI/CD, APIs, systems integration, software testing, automated testing, containerization, and version control.
