Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of significant backend features and components for Prisma Cloud and Cortex Cloud.
- Develop resilient, scalable backend services using Go, Java, and Python.
- Drive technical design discussions and decisions while aligning solutions with the overall architecture.
- Collaborate with product management, frontend engineers, security researchers, and SRE teams to ship features and platform enhancements.
- Promote backend development, testing, and deployment best practices for cloud-native security solutions.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical and production issues affecting platform reliability and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural reviews.
- Evaluate emerging cloud and backend technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of backend software development experience designing and delivering scalable distributed systems.
- Expertise in Java, Go, and/or Python for backend development.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems patterns.
- Proven experience with system design, data modeling, and RESTful or gRPC API design.
- Preferred experience in a cloud security context.
- Preferred understanding of GCP, AWS, or Azure and Docker or Kubernetes, with emphasis on security best practices.
- Preferred experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka or RabbitMQ message queues, and caching solutions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
