Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services.
- Improve code quality, identify recurring issues and patterns, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications and codebases, including peer review of code changes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Investigate and apply new technologies where relevant.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Participate in architecture and code reviews and mentor less experienced developers.
- Lead or contribute to additional projects and duties as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java Full Stack Development experience.
- At least 2.5 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- At least 2.5 years of Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- At least 2.5 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust and highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices.
- Knowledge of at least one shell scripting language.
- Ability to work across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation levels.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Experience leading work or mentoring developers and driving results across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives and understanding of LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Fifteen years of full-time education is required.
