Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical designs.
- Design and implement improvements to existing applications and codebases.
- Lead or contribute to architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design decisions.
- Develop robust, highly scalable web services and debug distributed systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and customer support on technical issues.
- Mentor less experienced developers and help lead project work.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies.
- Translate AI innovation into business and productivity improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java Full Stack Development experience.
- At least 2.5 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with React is preferred.
- Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Ability to work across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation while collaborating effectively across teams.
