Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for a critical part of the engineering organization and design significant infrastructure components across teams.
- Set and uphold standards for building and operating robust, maintainable, reliable, scalable, and secure software.
- Mentor, coach, and help hire engineers while developing future technical leaders.
- Deliver software and product experiences that balance technical quality, speed, customer value, and business needs.
- Break down complex technical problems into independently owned goals and lead delivery through other engineers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated first-class technical execution and systems thinking in distributed, cloud-native environments.
- Proven technical leadership experience delivering projects through others and influencing technical architecture and strategy.
- Ability to decompose complex problems, create effective interfaces between teams, and make appropriate long-term technical trade-offs.
- Demonstrated impact through mentoring and coaching, with the ability to adapt to colleagues’ needs.
- Openness to experimentation and continued learning as software engineering evolves in the age of AI.
- Strong product and customer focus, including curiosity about product usage and using data to guide what to build.
