Responsibilities
- Stand up and sustain local AI hosting, including model serving, MLOps, server administration, and air-gapped environments.
- Develop, integrate, and deploy AI systems on the corporate GCC High secure cloud as a developer.
- Build and operate the proprietary AI platform, shared hosting infrastructure, and self-service workforce tools.
- Lead security and accreditation engineering toward authorization to operate in partnership with the security office.
- Implement tracing, telemetry, and observability for deployed systems.
- Deploy cleared solutions while coordinating with a separate teammate responsible for the quality gate.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of infrastructure, platform, or site-reliability engineering experience, including at least 3 years in MLOps or model serving.
- Recent hands-on experience with self-hosted systems or LLM inference, training, or tuning, including production model-serving or hosting operations.
- Experience standing up an environment from the first server and documenting, hardening, and operating it in production.
- Server-level system administration and security engineering experience for self-hosted and air-gapped systems.
- Cloud development capability and working fluency with open-weight models, quantization, and sanctioned endpoints.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training; engineering, computer science, data science, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes security accreditation leadership such as ATO, CMMC, or FedRAMP; inference optimization; vLLM or equivalent serving-stack tuning; GovCloud, GCC High, or DoD environments; and hosting coding-assistant or IDE-service model sets.
- U.S. citizenship and an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time are required.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, communication, and writing skills are required.
