Responsibilities
- Build automated deployments using configuration management technology.
- Implement reusable components and translate technical requirements.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure environments meet requirements and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and triage issues across engineering teams to identify and resolve root causes.
- Identify automation, design, and process-improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency.
- Ensure critical system security using cloud security solutions.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems across platform and application domains.
- Suggest architecture improvements and recommend process improvements.
- Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a relevant field.
- Experience with virtualization environments such as VMware.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Deep understanding of DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, and HTTP.
- Proficiency with Linux administration, shell scripting, and at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
- Familiarity with RDBMS administration, such as MySQL, and SQL basics.
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Ansible.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with test-driven development, behavior-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
- Experience using Docker and understanding Docker containers.
- Experience securing systems according to best practices.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Experience operating big data pipelines such as ELK, Splunk, or Spark is a plus.
- Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Rancher, or Swarm is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and metrics systems such as Prometheus, InfluxDB, or Grafana is a plus.
