Responsibilities
- Improve and extend Python-based test automation frameworks for optical transceiver hardware and system-level performance validation.
- Apply AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate automation development, code review, and test result analysis.
- Interface with optical test hardware, including optical spectrum analyzers, tunable lasers, variable optical attenuators, and high-speed bit-error-rate testers.
- Develop workflow automation for test execution pipelines, data collection, and reporting.
- Investigate test failures and anomalies and perform root cause analysis across software and hardware layers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field at an accredited institution.
- Strong Python programming skills and the ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, persistence, initiative, and ownership skills.
- Experience with PyTest or Robot Framework is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing environments is preferred.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, or ChatGPT is preferred.
- Exposure to Serial, GPIB, or SCPI hardware interfaces and instrument communication protocols is preferred.
- Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar development tools is preferred.
- Coursework or project experience in signal processing, communications, optical networking, or photonic systems is preferred.
- Experience with pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib is preferred.
- Basic understanding of optical networking technologies and transceiver validation processes is preferred.
