Responsibilities
- Lead system architecture, bring-up, validation, and debugging for BMC platforms based on NXP i.MX processors.
- Develop and integrate OpenBMC components including Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, PLDM, sensor management, event logging, and health monitoring.
- Enable power sequencing, thermal management, inventory management, firmware updates, and remote management functions.
- Integrate server platforms using PCIe, USB, I2C, I3C, SMBus, UART, Ethernet, and GPIO interfaces.
- Support DC-SCM and OCP-compliant BMC architectures and develop Linux BSP and device-driver enhancements.
- Work with ecosystem partners and customers on solution customization, productization, design-ins, proof-of-concepts, demos, and technical escalations.
- Create technical documentation, application notes, design guidelines, and reference collateral while participating in design and architecture reviews.
- Contribute to upstream OpenBMC and other open-source projects and help drive technical initiatives and customer commitments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded systems, server management, networking, or platform software development.
- Strong expertise in Linux-based embedded systems and hands-on experience with OpenBMC or similar management controller solutions.
- Experience with C/C++, embedded Linux application development, Yocto-based Linux distributions, and hardware and software debugging tools.
- Strong understanding of BMC architecture, server platforms, datacenter infrastructure, and out-of-band management.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows.
- Preferred experience with Redfish, IPMI, PLDM, MCTP, NC-SI, SMBus, I3C, server hardware design and validation, and PCIe endpoint or root-complex architecture.
- Preferred knowledge of secure boot, Root of Trust, TPM, firmware attestation, OCP, DC-SCM, Open Compute platforms, hyperscale or enterprise server customers, and open-source contribution.
- Strong system-level problem-solving, communication, customer-facing, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
