Base Salary
$179k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Deliver robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and distributed-system performance improvement.
- Influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices.
- Mentor engineers and support professional development within technical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, AWS, GCP, Azure, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, APIs, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with AI-based coding tools, IDE copilots, interactive AI tooling, observability, and performance optimization in distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience mentoring engineers, leading cross-functional engineering efforts, establishing coding standards, and enforcing design patterns across teams.
