Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop mission-level modeling and simulation for national security space missions, including operational objectives, environments, and constraints.
- Model and analyze constellation-level capability and performance, including network coverage, beam planning, and resilience in contested environments.
- Create and maintain simulation infrastructure and physics-based models for propulsion, attitude control, power, and communications subsystems.
- Perform data analysis and anomaly investigation to identify and resolve on-orbit problems, and support spacecraft subsystem integration and testing.
- Develop tools for rapid deployment of quality code and make required changes to vehicle control software.
- Set technical direction, review designs and code, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance, or a TS/SCI held within the last 12 months, and U.S. citizenship.
- Prior experience with classified national security programs and secure/SCIF environments, including classified-information handling and program security protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in physics, aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another STEM field.
- At least 5 years of professional modeling and simulation experience.
- Development experience in Rust, C++, or a similar compiled language, plus experience with scientific Python, Julia, MATLAB, or similar tools.
- Ability to own complex systems end-to-end and guide the work of other engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's or PhD, defense or national security modeling experience, Rust production experience, simulation-system design, Monte Carlo methods, probability/statistics, linear algebra, controls, orbital mechanics, space communications modeling, Linux, electronics, computer architecture, and continuous integration and delivery systems.
