Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary Systems, Digital, and RF teams on the architecture and design of software for satellite payload systems.
- Interact with customers and participate in new project proposals.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and team knowledge and performance development, including one-on-one meetings, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Implement embedded flight software and refine software requirements.
- Write required software lifecycle documentation.
- Serve as a technical leader within an agile development team.
- Support flight-code integration and testing within flight units.
- Support software process automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 15 years of embedded software development experience.
- Experience with networking, communication protocols, real-time operating systems, embedded processor boot code, and complex systems-on-chip.
- Strong C and C++ skills, including C++14.
- Leadership experience in an agile environment and experience with continuous integration and delivery.
- Strong experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong English or French communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, requiring Canadian citizenship or valid permanent-resident status.
- Preferred experience includes DVB-S2X, RF systems, CCSDS, MIL-STD-1553, CAN bus, SpaceWire, Visual Studio, Eclipse, Jira, Confluence, VectorCast, embedded Linux, and disciplined software development.
