Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core platform features including data orchestration, verification workflows, and API infrastructure serving customers across more than 100 countries.
- Own complex features end to end from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on customer feedback.
- Write clean, tested, performant, scalable, reliable, and secure production code for a regulated compliance environment.
- Drive architectural decisions, technical designs, RFCs, design reviews, and roadmap discussions for the assigned domain.
- Mentor and pair with engineers, conduct code reviews, document technical decisions, and improve engineering practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response when platform systems require attention.
- Contribute to AI-powered document intelligence, website analysis, anomaly detection, fraud detection, data processing, and compliance automation features.
- Partner with product managers, designers, customer success, sales, and operations to translate customer and compliance needs into technical solutions.
- Identify improvements that reduce technical debt, improve performance, and enhance developer productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, and TypeScript/Node.js.
- Deep understanding of backend systems, distributed architectures, API design, and SQL and NoSQL database optimization.
- Experience building scalable, high-throughput systems that maintain reliability under load.
- Track record of owning complex technical projects from conception through successful delivery.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering culture.
- Preferred experience includes fintech, compliance, identity verification, fraud detection, AI/ML systems, document processing, or computer vision.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, open source, high-growth startups, and global compliance regulations such as KYC, KYB, AML, and GDPR.
