Base Salary
$200k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build scientific and engineering scaffolding for active learning and closed-loop optimization, including data ETL, ML modeling, and library design.
- Collaborate with computational scientists to define optimization objectives and encode domain-specific priors and constraints.
- Implement model registries, evaluation frameworks, and automated reporting for benchmarking and experiment comparison.
- Define CI/CD pipelines and resource orchestration using Kubernetes, Ray, and Dagster.
- Define and own the ML engineering roadmap, mentor computational scientists, and establish best practices for code hygiene, testing, and reproducibility.
- Design distributed-training, inference, experiment-tracking, and deployment frameworks that translate research prototypes into production-grade systems.
Requirements
- Deep experience in ML infrastructure, systems engineering, and production ML workflows from training through deployment and monitoring.
- Proficiency with Python, PyTorch, JAX, Ray, Kubernetes, and cloud services including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Deep experience with experiment-tracking and model-management tools such as MLflow and Weights & Biases.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including version control, modular design, CI/CD, and distributed computing.
- Experience working with sparse, noisy, or high-cost data while bridging machine learning and experimental science.
- A systems-level mindset focused on model lifecycles, collaboration, and reproducibility.
- Familiarity with neuroscience is a nice-to-have qualification.
