Base Salary

$157k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead research and analysis of multiparty computation, quantum-safe cryptography, and zero-knowledge proof protocols.
  • Architect and implement cryptographic solutions for privacy and confidentiality in financial, non-financial, and blockchain-based applications.
  • Collaborate with cryptographers, product, engineering, and compliance teams to integrate cryptography into financial products and services.
  • Evaluate and enhance cryptographic protocols for security, industry-standard compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess cryptographic libraries and crypto-agile approaches and help define and implement JPMorgan Chase solutions.
  • Assess the performance impact of post-quantum cryptography deployments.
  • Represent the organization in academic and industry forums and communicate ongoing work to other teams.
  • Mentor junior cryptographers and engineers in advanced cryptographic concepts and best practices.

Requirements

  • PhD or MS in Cryptography, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field, with a dissertation or significant research in multiparty computation, quantum-safe cryptography, or zero-knowledge proofs.
  • At least 5 years of post-PhD/MS experience applying advanced cryptographic techniques, preferably in banking, payments, digital assets, or related financial domains.
  • Software development experience and strong industry experience securing complex IT infrastructure, customer-facing services, and sensitive data.
  • Proficiency in cryptographic protocol design, analysis, and implementation.
  • Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools such as MP-SPDZ, FRESCO, SEAL, HElib, libsnark, Zokrates, or Circom.
  • Proficiency applying cryptography to network security protocols such as TLS and IPsec.
  • Familiarity with privacy-technology regulatory and compliance considerations in the financial sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
