Responsibilities
- Parallelize and optimize accounting and financial calculations using Apache Spark.
- Develop and maintain backend REST web services and integrate applications through predefined interfaces and contracts.
- Manage and improve batch-based data processing workflows and optimize data orchestration for performance and stability.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and production rollout across the software development lifecycle.
- Support DevOps automation and continuous deployment practices.
- Collaborate with global teams in Budapest, London, New York, Montreal, and India.
Requirements
- Strong development experience with Java, preferably Spring.
- Experience with Scala or a comparable programming language.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, or DB2.
- Experience with Big Data technologies or repositories such as Hadoop or MongoDB.
- Understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux application debugging is desirable.
- Experience with DevOps automation tools and scripting such as AutoSys, UNIX Shell, Perl, or Python is desirable.
- Previous finance, accounting, or banking experience and knowledge of business reporting, data science, or data processing concepts are desirable.
