Base Salary
$124k - $156k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver traffic-platform milestones from problem definition through rollout and follow-up, while managing tasks, progress, risks, and stakeholders.
- Design and evolve reliable, scalable, secure traffic-management and service-mesh capabilities.
- Ensure platform stability and quality through failure-aware design, testing, observability, incident response, and preventative follow-up.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and partner teams to translate needs into technical plans and milestones.
- Use AI tools and agents to investigate issues, write and review code, explore solutions, and automate repetitive work.
- Create technical documentation and runbooks, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering reviews and initiatives.
- Support teammate growth through feedback, code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and collaboration.
- Participate in on-call and support routines and use incidents, tickets, and metrics to drive platform improvements.
Requirements
- Experience operating large-scale, high-performance synchronous distributed systems in the cloud.
- Hands-on experience with load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS/mTLS, routing, and metrics, logs, and traces.
- Experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, deployment and routing strategies, and DNS configuration.
- Experience using AI tools and agents in daily engineering workflows while validating outputs and maintaining quality and safety.
- Experience leading infrastructure platform projects from design through production launch and post-rollout stabilization.
- Experience with Istio or other service-mesh technologies such as Linkerd, Envoy-based solutions, or Finagle.
- Production experience with AWS networking and compute primitives including ALB/NLB, security groups, VPC, Route 53, and IAM.
- Hands-on experience with Pulumi or Terraform for cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Experience building platform capabilities, shared libraries, abstractions, SDKs, or internal tooling for other engineers.
