Base Salary
$147k - $196k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build solutions for the e-commerce platform, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Create right-sized, tested, and reliable services focused on customer and employee needs.
- Shape developer experience and long-term engineering vision for the e-commerce codebase.
- Partner with marketing teams to improve the quality, speed, and usability of online shopping.
- Work with data analytics teams to capture and use information for business decisions.
- Coordinate with operations teams on fulfillment and shipping services supporting warehouses.
- Partner with QA engineers to run quality end-to-end tests throughout the CI/CD process.
- Build reporting services and self-service internal tools.
- Mentor engineers, drive technical decisions, and establish standards that improve engineering quality.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience developing software and business solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading or developing full-stack solutions from concept through completion.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, make technical decisions, and set engineering standards.
- Expertise with React and modern JavaScript frameworks, including Remix, Next.js, and React Router.
- Experience with server-side rendering, client-side rendering, static site generation, design systems, component libraries, and large-scale React applications.
- Deep expertise with Node.js and TypeScript and experience building and scaling production applications.
- Experience designing backend services and REST and GraphQL APIs using NestJS, Express.js, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of SQL, ORM technologies, query optimization, and schema design, including TypeORM or Prisma.
- Cloud-native development experience, preferably with AWS, scalable architecture patterns, and infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Experience using AI tools and integrations to accelerate development and automate business processes.
- Agile experience, collaborative working style, and commitment to continuous delivery of high-quality software.
- Experience building new systems and integrating with existing data and third-party systems.
- E-commerce experience is preferred, with commercetools experience as a plus.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS is preferred.
- Experience with Contentful or other CMS platforms and content modeling is preferred.
- Experience with A/B testing platforms such as Contentful Personalization or Optimizely is preferred.
- Experience with edge runtimes such as Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge, or Vercel Edge is preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or APM tools such as Grafana, New Relic, or Datadog applied to Node.js server performance is preferred.
