Responsibilities
- Support software and test design processes, including the application of DFT principles throughout product development.
- Support software and test workstreams within NPI projects and help transition products through build, scale, and customer delivery.
- Define and implement processes for firmware programming, product configuration, calibration-data handling, and version control in production builds.
- Develop and document automated test processes for new products and assemblies.
- Design automated electromechanical test systems with mechanical and electronics engineers.
- Improve manufacturing readiness, production test speed, build times, software quality, automation, reliability, and test coverage.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting of software, automation, and hardware-integrated system issues during NPI builds.
- Support non-conformance investigations and product quality improvements with the quality department.
- Contribute to the standards and processes of the new NPI team.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Strong experience developing software in C# with knowledge of WPF and MVVM.
- Experience developing software tools, applications, or automation projects, ideally involving hardware or real-world systems, through academic, personal, or professional projects.
- Understanding of source control, testing, debugging, release processes, and configuration control.
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues involving embedded hardware-integrated systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to create technical documentation and work within controlled software development and change-management processes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Familiarity with embedded firmware programming tools and manufacturing test systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of calibration workflows, automation frameworks, LabVIEW, and C/C++ is desirable.
- Exposure to software communicating with hardware, instruments, sensors, or embedded systems is desirable.
- Understanding of engineering change control, ISO 9001 environments, and traceability requirements is desirable.
- Exposure to thermal imaging products, real-time embedded systems, jigs, fixtures, tooling, or electronic test equipment is desirable.
- Commercial industry experience is not required; academic, personal, placement, and internship projects are relevant.
