Software Engineer, Back-End (Pentest Platform)

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate event-driven services for real-time pentest data processing, including event streaming, stream processing, storage, schema evolution, and replayable processing.
- Own ambiguous, high-impact technical problems through system design, implementation, rollout, and long-term operation.
- Translate batch-era finding enrichment, attack-path analysis, host and identity correlation, and reporting logic into streaming-friendly designs.
- Solve distributed systems and data-platform challenges involving large per-pentest datasets, host identity, storage decomposition, and enterprise scale.
- Establish operational excellence through SLOs, instrumentation, alerting, on-call support, and incident response.
- Improve engineering quality through design reviews, technical writing, API contracts, decision records, and collaboration with platform and attack-engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go, including work with large-scale codebases.
- Production experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query performance at scale.
- Experience building and operating services in AWS or a comparable cloud using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on production experience with observability tools such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include event-driven or streaming-platform experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink; distributed-systems design; batch-to-streaming or monolith-to-services migrations; Neo4j and graph data modeling; SQL; cybersecurity, pentesting, or vulnerability-management experience; and encryption patterns such as envelope encryption and KMS.
