Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for data center, AI, SSD controller, DSP, networking, and other advanced hardware platforms.
  • Design and implement device drivers, firmware features, and communication protocols for RTOS-based systems.
  • Participate in product concept, design, implementation, testing, validation, and customer release activities.
  • Create automation scripts for testing, failure analysis, and infrastructure management.
  • Develop provisioning software and trusted firmware stacks supporting SoC security features, cryptography, and secure protocols.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, QA, and customer solutions teams on integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Design and execute unit, system, integration, and regression tests, including Jenkins-based continuous integration.
  • Support lab testing, data analysis, debugging-tool development, proof-of-concept preparation, and customer documentation.
  • Debug complex hardware and software issues, perform root cause analysis, and manage fixes through issue tracking systems.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree program in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, with expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C.
  • Comfort working in Windows or Linux-based development environments.
  • Understanding of computer architecture, networking fundamentals including the OSI model and TCP/IP, and/or embedded systems.
  • Knowledge or experience with Git, GitHub, Gerrit, Linux, Makefiles, GDB, IDEs, and bash scripting is beneficial.
  • Knowledge or experience with ARM CPU, RISC-V, TrustZone, Caliptra, Trusted Firmware, RTOS architecture, device drivers, and communication protocols is beneficial.
  • Knowledge or experience with IPSec, TLS/SSL, SPDM, digital certificates, and cryptography is beneficial.
  • Knowledge or experience with DSP concepts, including equalizers, filters, ADC, DAC, FFE, and DFE, is beneficial.
  • Knowledge or experience with Jenkins CI, software regression planning, GUI development, lab automation, customer SDKs, Ethernet, SERDES, switches, routers, unit testing, system integration, and debugging tools is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.

  • Expected base pay is $34-$68 per hour.
  • Eligible for bonus and equity plans, including a new-hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers.
