Base Salary
$112k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js frameworks such as NestJS.
- Build scalable systems using event streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new platform features and functionality.
- Refactor and improve codebases for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop RESTful APIs using established best practices and design patterns.
- Deploy, monitor, and scale applications using cloud technologies.
- Solve complex technical and business problems and continuously develop engineering skills.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in Computer Science and 2+ years of backend software engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4+ years of experience.
- Backend engineering experience focused on Java and Node.js.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB, including query optimization, schema design, and data security.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
- Experience using Jira for sprint planning and task and bug tracking.
- Proficiency with modern IDEs such as VS Code.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, unit testing, and software development best practices.
- Experience with AWS and GCP, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS and with microservices architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable contributions to open-source projects.
