Responsibilities
- Architect and lead firmware, BSP, hardware abstraction layer, and real-time operating system development for wearable and consumer hardware.
- Own embedded subsystem designs and evaluate power, latency, memory, and hardware integration trade-offs.
- Drive embedded software roadmaps and align hardware, silicon, product, vendor, and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Establish coding standards, testing frameworks, rollout practices, reliability metrics, and performance optimization processes.
- Debug complex firmware defects and system-level failures, including multithreaded and interrupt-driven issues.
- Collaborate on hardware bring-up, silicon validation, peripheral integration, and board support package development.
- Mentor engineers, participate in technical recruiting, communicate product vision, and reduce technical debt through migrations and tooling improvements.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- 2+ years of experience working as a technical lead driving all engineering activities of a team.
- Experience programming in C and C++ for resource-constrained embedded targets, including memory management, interrupt handling, and low-level peripheral drivers.
- Experience leading major embedded software initiatives across cross-functional hardware and software teams.
- Experience debugging embedded systems with JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, or static analysis frameworks.
- Experience defining and tracking embedded-system reliability and performance metrics for power, latency, and memory utilization.
- Preferred experience with wearable, AR, or device hardware platforms, sensor fusion, wireless communication stacks, low-power design, hardware bring-up, custom silicon, or system-on-chip designs.
- Preferred professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin.
- Preferred experience with embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or custom bare-metal firmware architectures.
- Preferred experience implementing responsible AI practices, AI-assisted development tools, prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration, automated testing, code generation, or anomaly detection.
