Staff Embedded Systems Engineer
Renesas ElectronicsResponsibilities
- Develop, debug, test, and optimize embedded firmware for Renesas MCUs using C/C++ in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
- Provide technical application engineering support to customers using Renesas MCU products.
- Understand customer needs and recommend MCU products and solutions for end-user applications.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions showcasing Renesas MCU capabilities.
- Collaborate with FAEs, marketing, and business-unit engineering teams on design-ins and customer escalations.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams and customers.
- Manage customer escalations and coordinate timely technical issue resolution with internal teams.
- Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to inform MCU product roadmap recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of professional industry experience in embedded systems is required.
- Strong experience developing embedded MCU firmware in C/C++.
- Foundational understanding of CPU architecture and electronic circuits.
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS or Azure RTOS.
- Strong understanding of MCU peripherals and communication protocols including UART, SPI, I²C, PMBus, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Experience with IoT connectivity, server protocols, and security applications is preferred.
- Prior application engineering, field application engineering, or customer-facing engineering experience is preferred.
- Ability to engage customers primarily in Taiwan and collaborate with internal stakeholders across APAC.
- Strong written, verbal, English communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
