Responsibilities
- Own the full QA lifecycle for a new .NET-based product as the sole QA engineer.
- Define testing strategy, test plans, quality standards, test coverage, and release readiness criteria.
- Select automation tools and build a maintainable test automation framework from scratch.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for critical functionality, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing, investigate defects, document findings, and verify fixes.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable, actionable results.
- Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and improve testability.
- Assess test coverage, communicate quality risks, and provide release readiness recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven senior QA or QA automation experience with independent ownership of the full QA lifecycle.
- Experience establishing QA processes and building test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong hands-on programming skills in at least one language used for test automation.
- Understanding of test design techniques, risk-based testing, and test-coverage selection.
- Experience testing APIs, backend services, and integrations.
- Experience combining automated, manual, and exploratory testing.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with Git.
- Troubleshooting experience with logs, test data, and databases.
- Ability to prioritize testing activities, select tools pragmatically, and work independently amid evolving requirements.
- Clear communication skills for explaining quality risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience testing .NET applications or programming in C#, serving as the sole QA engineer, conducting performance/load/security testing, or using containerized test environments and Docker.
