Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance scalable backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with a US-based team and cross-functional Engineering, Product, and Quality Assurance partners.
- Analyze existing systems, document architecture and application knowledge, and identify technical improvements.
- Own features and technical solutions from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and production support.
- Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve software quality and reliability.
- Continuously evaluate technologies and approaches that improve products and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Strong experience designing, building, integrating, and maintaining REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of API design, backend architecture, integration patterns, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with unit testing, code reviews, debugging, and maintainable production-quality software.
- Ability to understand complex systems and unfamiliar codebases, evaluate alternatives, and recommend pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate with limited supervision after an initial learning period.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with geographically distributed teams.
- Ability to communicate in English daily with a US-based team during technical discussions, design decisions, and problem solving.
- Preferred experience modernizing existing applications and APIs, working with complex enterprise systems, supporting production applications, and diagnosing technical issues.
- Preferred experience with cloud-based applications, distributed systems, microservices architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and practical generative AI tools.
