Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Kubernetes platforms such as Rancher/RKE2 and AKS, including upgrades, scaling, performance, cost and capacity management, backups, and high-availability architecture.
- Design automation and golden-path initiatives using Terraform modules, Helm/Kustomize frameworks, reusable CI/CD workflows, and scalable self-service onboarding.
- Own GitOps architecture with Argo CD, including pinned deployments, policy-as-code, image signing, SBOM integration, drift detection, and rollback strategies.
- Define secure and compliant CI/CD patterns with identity-based cloud access, approvals, and immutable audit trails.
- Set strategy for container supply-chain security and Azure Container Registry governance, including promotion models and immutability.
- Own platform observability through SLOs, alerting standards, dashboards, and capacity management across clusters.
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and security leaders on platform adoption, incident response, runbooks, and long-term planning.
- Mentor engineers, influence design decisions, contribute to roadmap planning, and build security and compliance controls into the platform by default.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Platform, SRE, or DevOps roles with deep production Kubernetes experience.
- Proven ownership of complex systems and platform-level initiatives.
- Strong expertise in GitOps, CI/CD architecture, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills and experience influencing across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with Rancher/RKE2 or AKS in production environments, policy-as-code, image signing, SBOMs, regulated CI/CD environments, and AI/ML-driven automation in containerized infrastructure.
- Preferred Terraform Associate or Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
