Base Salary

$166k - $201k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build core components of a multi-petabyte cloud storage platform for high-performance AI and ML workloads.
  • Contribute to distributed file, block, and object storage products, focusing on filesystem-based solutions.
  • Design and implement high-performance, scalable, resilient, and extensible storage architectures.
  • Prototype strategies to improve performance and system throughput for demanding customer workloads.
  • Build observability, metrics, and tooling for storage services and fleets.
  • Troubleshoot complex distributed-systems problems at scale.
  • Support production systems and customer workloads through troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident response.
  • Collaborate with Software Infrastructure, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Own and represent the storage team in business-critical company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Hands-on proficiency in modern software development practices and practical experience with Go, Java, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Extensive experience developing multi-tenant, cloud-scale distributed storage infrastructure software and systems.
  • Experience contributing to file storage such as NFS, SMB, or Lustre, object storage, or block storage such as NVMe or iSCSI.
  • Strong background in high-performance filesystem-based products, VFS, and Linux filesystems such as ext4, XFS, or ZFS.
  • Proficiency working with Linux and its storage subsystems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools, log analysis, distributed tracing, and debugging.
  • Experience with AI/HPC storage solutions, parallel filesystems, or petabyte-plus-scale object storage is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with RDMA and InfiniBand is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with GPU Direct Storage, F2FS, or SPDK is a bonus.
  • Prior experience with Nvidia SuperNIC DPUs, storage virtualization and orchestration, volume placement strategies, or distributed metadata management is a bonus.
  • Research publications or open-source contributions to storage-related projects are a bonus.
