Base Salary

$135k - $160k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own a developer workflow, tool, or user problem through discovery, definition, design, build, rollout, adoption, and potential retirement.
  • Conduct product discovery through user interviews, workflow observation, support-ticket analysis, usage data, and CI logs.
  • Define product problems, scope, release sequencing, outcomes, and adoption measurements.
  • Design flows, states, empty states, and error cases using Figma or code prototypes.
  • Build developer-facing interfaces, backend services, APIs, CLIs, terminal UIs, GitHub Apps and Actions, Harness pipeline templates, and integrations.
  • Apply AI through agent workflows, context and tool design, MCP servers, evaluations, human review points, cost and latency budgets, and guardrails.
  • Maintain consumer-grade standards for latency, responsiveness, accessibility, error messages, documentation, and internal software quality.
  • Earn adoption through design partners, pilots, launch communications, office hours, and clear migration paths.
  • Create reusable technical building blocks and communicate decisions through specifications, documentation, changelogs, and launch notes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, excluding internships, with a record of shipping software people chose to use.
  • Experience leading a complex project from unclear requirements through launch while coordinating with other teams and making scope and implementation tradeoffs.
  • Strong expertise in at least one relevant area such as TypeScript and React or a backend language such as Go, Python, Java, or Rust, with the ability to work across adjacent layers.
  • Experience building developer-facing software such as CLIs, internal platforms, SDKs, CI/CD tooling, or IDE integrations.
  • Ability to conduct user discovery, reason about interaction and failure states, and communicate clearly in specs, documentation, changelogs, and launch notes.
  • Ability to assess where LLM-based capabilities can help, including failure modes and appropriate human review.
  • Bonus experience with Harness, GitHub Actions, Buildkite, or similar CI/CD systems and large-scale release orchestration.
  • Bonus experience automating Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or Figma APIs or building applications inside those products.
  • Bonus experience with agent frameworks, MCP servers, retrieval, evaluation systems, DORA, SPACE, DevEx measurement, terminal UI frameworks, design systems, or Backstage.
