Base Salary
$154k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Scale, harden, and evolve in-house BGP, Open/R, and related routing services for data center, backbone, and AI networks.
- Develop production software to solve routing problems for Meta’s network.
- Work hands-on with routers, switches, adapters, load balancers, and other networking devices and protocols.
- Participate in the production operation of Tier-0 routing services.
- Integrate with adjacent systems and evaluate third-party solutions.
- Automate processes and build software infrastructure for network monitoring, analysis, capacity planning, and architecture change analysis.
- Develop and automate test suites, including for CI/CD frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience in networking, distributed systems, or a related technical domain, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with network devices and products and an understanding of network routing protocols in industry settings.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and at least one scripting language, such as Python or Shell Scripting.
- Experience developing and automating test suites.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale network design or operations and production implementations of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, or Open/R.
- Preferred: experience debugging large codebases, deploying networking software services, and operating high-criticality Tier-0 services.
