Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and govern shared Spring Boot integration starters, libraries, security wiring, serialization controls, and cloud logging and tracing instrumentation.
- Provide architectural oversight, technical guidance, and hands-on enablement for high-performance and resilient Spring Boot microservices.
- Conduct technical design and pull request reviews to enforce architecture, security, and quality standards.
- Define CI/CD, testing, container scanning and signing, and GKE deployment standards for Spring Boot services.
- Own the Apigee X API gateway strategy, policy framework, lifecycle management, registry, and developer portal governance.
- Establish API standards covering OAuth 2.0 and JWT validation, rate limiting, quotas, threat protection, mTLS, versioning, error schemas, pagination, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Define the target architecture and operating standards for Google Managed Kafka, including topics, consumer groups, schemas, registries, and dead-letter queues.
- Lead managed file transfer architecture and workflows for trading partners, SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, PGP encryption, and cloud logging.
- Serve as lead solution architect for integrations across Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, JDE ERP, HCM, and new platforms.
- Govern synchronous API, event-driven streaming, and batch file transfer integration patterns and produce architecture artifacts such as ADRs, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, and API specifications.
- Coordinate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to meet reliability and latency SLAs for event pipelines and file transfer workflows.
Requirements
- 12+ years of enterprise integration engineering experience, including at least three years in an architect or lead technical role.
- Expert Java and Spring Boot engineering skills, including Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Security 6.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate, REST API design, and custom starter development.
- Experience building and maintaining shared libraries, chassis frameworks, or internal developer platform tooling for Java microservices.
- Hands-on Apigee X or Apigee Edge experience covering API lifecycle management, policy enforcement, mTLS, and developer portals.
- Hands-on Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka, or Google Managed Kafka experience, including topic design, schemas, producer and consumer patterns, and monitoring.
- Deep experience with GCP-native services and containerized deployments, including GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Trace, and IAM.
- Experience architecting managed file transfer solutions, trading partner workflows, SFTP or AS2 protocols, and PGP key lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with Java 17+, Spring Cloud, Maven or Gradle, JUnit 5, Mockito, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience with OpenAPI 3.x, OAuth 2.0, client identification, rate limiting, threat protection, dead-letter queues, retries, circuit breakers, and batch file transfers.
- Experience with GCP VPC networking, Secret Manager, GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security, SAST, container scanning, Terraform, and Git branching.
- Knowledge of OWASP API Top 10, mTLS, CORS, security headers, certificate lifecycle management, and architecture documentation.
- Google Professional Cloud Developer or Google Professional Cloud Architect certification is required or must be obtained within six months.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Spring Professional Certification is highly desirable.

- Competitive compensation package with base pay range of $150,800 to $251,300.
