Responsibilities
- Scope customer environments, systems, data models, workflows, and business problems with executive sponsors and IT/data owners.
- Rapidly prototype and demo working AI-powered solutions with customers, iterating in real time to prove value.
- Bridge customer engagements and core engineering by hardening validated prototypes into production deployments.
- Design and implement multi-tenant, hybrid, and customer-controlled deployment architectures based on data residency, privacy, and IT requirements.
- Build and own identity and access management, encryption, key management, and secure cross-network connectivity for customer deployments.
- Apply security, data-residency, and compliance judgment during customer discovery and solution design.
- Own CI/CD, observability, and production support for systems operating inside customer environments.
- Identify repeatable patterns across engagements and provide field feedback to Product for standardization and roadmap decisions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, AI Specialists, Program Managers, Data Analysts, and Engineers on customer-impactful problem statements.
- Travel regularly to domestic and occasional international customer sites for discovery, prototyping, workshops, executive readouts, and go-live support.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on backend engineering and cloud infrastructure experience.
- At least 1 year of experience building production-grade agentic AI solutions.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Java, and TypeScript, and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
- Strong cloud platform knowledge, preferably AWS, with the ability to design and operate multi-tenant and hybrid customer-cloud deployments.
- Strong data engineering fundamentals, including ingesting, cleaning, and normalizing inconsistent data from disparate systems.
- Working knowledge of identity and access management, encryption and key management, and secure networking patterns such as VPC peering, PrivateLink, and mTLS.
- Experience scoping ambiguous customer problems, conducting discovery, and demonstrating work-in-progress solutions in person and remotely.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites domestically and occasionally internationally.
- Experience leading projects and debugging complex issues with minimal supervision.
- Preferred experience with LangChain, LangGraph, FastMCP, RAG, MCP, Postgres, DuckDB, or pgvector.
- Preferred experience in solutions engineering, professional services, or technical consulting with end-to-end customer relationship ownership.
- Familiarity with GDPR, FERPA, DPDPA, HIPAA, or similar data privacy and residency regimes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical constraints for executive and non-technical stakeholders.
