Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative risk assessments by quantifying security-related safety risks and collaborating with safety teams on risk-informed engineering decisions.
- Conduct security analysis, threat modeling, and risk assessment across Zoox’s custom vehicle fleet and cloud services.
- Translate conceptual findings into qualitative and quantitative risk assessments and high-quality written deliverables.
- Identify and evaluate threats across wired and wireless automotive communication channels.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, safety, and Product Security engineering teams while incorporating engineering constraints into recommendations.
- Analyze cybersecurity standards and create practical adoption plans focused on tangible business impact.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science or a related software, hardware, or systems engineering field.
- 7+ years of experience.
- Strong cybersecurity understanding spanning specific vulnerabilities and attacks in software and cyber-physical domains.
- Experience analyzing complex systems for cybersecurity and delivering actionable insights.
- Understanding of cybersecurity standards for cloud and cyber-physical systems.
- Experience applying ISO 21434, UNECE R155, NIST CSF, SOC2 Type2, or similar frameworks and standards is advantageous.
- Prior security analysis of automotive SoCs, on-chip security features, onboard communications, and interfaces such as UDS, JTAG, CAN, LIN, I2C, and SPI is advantageous.
- Familiarity with common cloud deployment architectures and frameworks is advantageous.
