Base Salary
$121k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-performance backend services using Java 17 or higher for risk and finance applications.
- Develop responsive, user-facing features with React.
- Design and review scalable, high-performance, reliable application architecture.
- Drive critical workstreams independently and oversee delivery toward measurable outcomes.
- Establish coding and design standards across frontend and backend development.
- Partner with Risk, Finance, Front Office, analysts, stakeholders, and external regulators on capital reporting projects.
- Mentor engineers at different experience levels and support their professional growth.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver software that meets client needs and performance expectations.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on engineering experience, including technical leadership responsibilities.
- A degree in a STEM or Finance-related discipline; a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is beneficial.
- Experience building enterprise-grade backend applications with Java 17 or higher, NoSQL, and Spring.
- Experience building frontend applications with React.
- Experience with relational and document databases, data structures, caching, and reporting systems.
- Experience managing or mentoring engineers, including teams distributed across multiple time zones.
- Experience working with large and complex codebases.
- Experience building RESTful web services with Java, Spring Boot, JSON, SQL, and modern build tools.
- Experience designing event-driven microservices following 12-factor application development standards.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and orchestration tools such as Tekton or Harness.
- Beneficial experience includes financial services, credit risk or market risk capital, public or private cloud deployment, AWS, distributed caching, big data platforms, batch and real-time high-volume data processing, and database design.
