Base Salary
$128k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex embedded software solutions.
- Design, develop, integrate, and test software for computer-controlled electromechanical devices in an RTOS environment.
- Lead high-impact engineering projects and establish technical direction for software engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and subject-matter expertise on complex technical challenges.
- Develop bootloaders, application code, and device drivers for embedded boards.
- Debug multi-threaded applications, communication peripherals, component-level designs, and integrated products.
- Create software requirements, design documentation, and test documentation supporting software risk management and medical-device safety.
- Collaborate with product management and business leaders to align software solutions with business needs.
- Follow GxP regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and organizational compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent directly related experience; alternatives include high school plus 13 years, associate degree plus 9 years, master’s degree plus 2 years, or PhD plus 0 years.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Fluent ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Preferred proficiency in C and C++ for embedded microcontrollers such as ST STM32, NXP, or similar platforms.
- Preferred understanding of electronic circuitry and ability to read schematics.
- Preferred experience with board bring-up and peripherals including SPI, CAN, UART, I2C, Ethernet, ADCs, and DACs.
- Preferred strong debugging skills for PCBA component-level designs and integrated products.
- Preferred proficiency with simulation and debugging tools such as CANoe and Lauterbach.
- Preferred proficiency with logic analyzers, in-circuit emulators, oscilloscopes, and DVMs.
- Preferred knowledge of embedded software architecture, design patterns, RTOS platforms such as CMX or ThreadX, and multi-threaded applications.
- Preferred experience writing supporting design and test documentation for embedded systems.
