Base Salary
$128k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex embedded software solutions for computer-controlled electromechanical medical devices.
- Design, develop, integrate, and test software in RTOS and multi-threaded environments.
- Lead high-impact engineering projects and make technical decisions about software architecture, design, and engineering strategy.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and serve as a subject-matter expert.
- Develop and debug bootloaders, application code, device drivers, board-level integrations, and communication peripherals.
- Create software requirements, design, test, and risk-management documentation supporting product safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with product management and business leaders to align software solutions with business needs.
- Improve software development processes and lifecycle practices while adhering to GxP regulations and SOPs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent directly related experience; stated alternatives include high school plus 13 years, associate degree plus 9 years, master’s degree plus 2 years, or PhD plus 0 years.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Fluent English reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills.
- Preferred proficiency in C and C++ for embedded microcontrollers such as ST STM32, NXP, or similar platforms.
- Preferred understanding of electronic circuitry, schematics, board bring-up, and on-chip and off-chip peripherals.
- Preferred experience with SPI, CAN, UART, I2C, Ethernet, ADCs, and DACs.
- Preferred component-level debugging experience on PCBAs or integrated products.
- Preferred proficiency with simulation and debugging tools such as CANoe and Lauterbach.
- Preferred proficiency with logic analyzers, in-circuit emulators, oscilloscopes, and DVMs.
- Preferred knowledge of embedded software architecture, design patterns, RTOS platforms such as CMX and ThreadX, and multi-threaded applications.
- Preferred experience creating bootloaders, application code, device drivers, and supporting embedded-system design and test documentation.
