Base Salary
$128k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of Windows-based software for ophthalmic medical devices.
- Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions across multiple product-development initiatives.
- Guide software development from requirements through verification and release.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, quality, regulatory, hardware, and product-management teams.
- Mentor engineers and promote software-development best practices, quality, and innovation.
- Evaluate technologies and processes that improve product performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Influence engineering direction and support key business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent directly related experience, with stated alternatives including high school plus 13 years, associate degree plus 9 years, M.S. plus 2 years, or PhD plus 0 years.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Fluent English reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills.
- Experience developing Windows applications with C#, .NET, WPF/XAML, MVVM, C, C++, and Microsoft technology stacks.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, inter-process communication, and scalable software development.
- Experience with hardware-software integration, system-level debugging, and complex electromechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, or similar diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to interpret schematic diagrams, interface specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience in FDA-regulated medical-device environments or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of multithreading, inter-process communication, TCP/IP networking, automated testing, Git, and software verification.
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, DICOM, Protocol Buffers, medical imaging, image processing, signal processing, algorithm development, and advanced healthcare technologies.
- Preferred background in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
