Responsibilities
- Build and deploy scalable backend services and APIs for global brands.
- Own project workstreams and dependencies from incomplete specifications through delivery.
- Clarify ambiguous requirements and create plans, tasks, stories, and time estimates.
- Participate in technical design for systems, schemas, pipelines, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Integrate third-party APIs and systems and design service contracts for frontend and other services.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Identify technical blockers, risks, and client-facing issues early.
- Promote best practices in testing, security, performance, and CI/CD.
- Work directly with client stakeholders and contribute to demos and presentations.
- Apply AI and agentic capabilities to client projects and develop reusable guidance and templates.
- Share knowledge internally and externally through Slack, brown bags, articles, or talks.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining production-level backend systems used by real people.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience designing and integrating APIs and third-party systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database platforms.
- Familiarity with modern frontend development, preferably Angular, sufficient to read code, review pull requests, and debug across the stack.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider; Google Cloud is preferred, with AWS or Azure also accepted.
- Daily real-world use of Gemini CLI, Claude Code, or Codex in development workflows.
- Working understanding of core LLM concepts and appropriate use cases.
- Fluency with Git, Agile processes, and CI/CD tooling.
- Ability to research independently, ask for help appropriately, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred qualifications include mentoring junior engineers, exposure to agent development frameworks, open-source contributions, technical writing, or conference speaking.
