Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable distributed-system components supporting horizontal and vertical scaling.
- Optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing and high-throughput workloads.
- Define scalability, availability, durability, and operational-readiness requirements for owned components.
- Design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, partition-handling, load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting.
- Build KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerting, and complex fault-injection and brownout validation scenarios.
- Implement data replication and synchronization to maintain correctness, integrity, and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, support incident response and root-cause investigations, and mentor others.
- Implement security controls and remediation plans for multi-tenant environments and maintain compliance documentation.
- Develop infrastructure automation and change-management plans for patching, updating, and rolling back applications.
Requirements
- Experience leading development and beginning architecture of scalable distributed systems.
- Experience optimizing systems for hyper-scale, high-throughput, and large-scale data processing workloads.
- Expertise designing fault-tolerant, elastic, durable, and highly available systems.
- Experience with telemetry, dashboards, alerting, performance and load testing, fault injection, replication, and synchronization.
- Ability to troubleshoot production systems, participate in operational support rotations, and conduct incident investigations.
- Experience implementing security controls, remediation plans, cloud-infrastructure compliance, and infrastructure automation.
- Ability to design and follow change-management plans for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
