Base Salary
$499k - $900k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve security architecture across hardware interfaces, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, BMC, FPGA, FreeBSD, and Linux.
- Implement security improvements through kernel and user-space development, configuration changes, and hardware security features.
- Drive measured boot, secure boot, BMC access controls, and auditability for appliances.
- Analyze and triage system-level security vulnerabilities, including hardware, GPU, and operating-system isolation issues.
- Provide appliance security expertise during incident response and partner on secure binary ingestion and execution.
- Develop automated vulnerability-research systems and low-level tooling for build, test, and release workflows.
- Serve as a security liaison across Netflix organizations and external silicon, firmware, operating-system, and disclosure communities.
Requirements
- Proven experience architecting and implementing security features that materially improve system security.
- Deep expertise in low-level systems and hardware security across kernels, firmware, BMC, BIOS/UEFI, and FPGA.
- Experience using containers or virtual machines to improve security.
- Experience driving cross-functional changes that improve security posture.
- Experience using AI agents to automate security research.
- Ability to define and self-manage cross-functional projects and translate stakeholder goals into security requirements and technical implementations.
- Preferred experience includes published security research, penetration testing, kernel development, TPMs/HSMs, trusted execution environments, measured or secure boot, hardware roots of trust, distributed systems, fuzzing, FreeBSD or Linux security, GPU or virtualization isolation, and C, Golang, or Python.
