Responsibilities
- Engage technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Provide oversight and guidance to teams deploying workloads to public cloud environments.
- Participate in architecture governance and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and operate software and infrastructure solutions.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, performance, and security.
- Apply software development lifecycle toolchain capabilities and automation to improve engineering outcomes.
- Identify technology gaps and recommend improvements and future-state architecture solutions.
- Lead evaluations of architectural designs and technical capabilities from vendors, startups, and internal teams.
- Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues and improve operational stability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience designing solutions for public cloud environments, primarily AWS.
- Proficiency in one or more mainstream programming languages, such as Java or Python.
- Experience with microservice application development or solution-oriented/N-tier architecture.
- Familiarity with multiple data storage technologies, including RDBMS and NoSQL.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to establish team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls.
- Expertise in software applications and technical processes within a discipline such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
- Advanced knowledge of software, applications, and architecture disciplines.
- Preferred: secure application and software design experience, infrastructure as code experience, public-cloud architecture certification, and financial services IT knowledge.
