Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, scalability, performance, observability, and security of Hevo’s production infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
- Design and evolve metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, SLI/SLO, and error-budget systems.
- Lead on-call rotations, incident management, blameless postmortems, and initiatives to reduce MTTA and MTTR.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and own CI/CD pipeline design.
- Architect and operate Kubernetes clusters at scale, including upgrades, autoscaling, cost optimization, and multi-tenant workloads.
- Own cloud network architecture, including VPCs, load balancers, service mesh, and zero-trust networking.
- Partner with product engineering teams to embed reliability and operational excellence into the software lifecycle.
- Mentor platform engineers, establish engineering best practices, and set technical direction.
- Own capacity planning and cloud infrastructure cost optimization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform engineering, including meaningful experience operating at Staff or Lead level.
- Deep hands-on experience running production Kubernetes at scale.
- Strong AWS expertise, including EC2, VPC, EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, and security groups.
- Experience building observability stacks with OTel, Grafana, Telegraf, Influx, or similar tools.
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code.
- Experience designing and owning CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools.
- Solid networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and service mesh.
- Experience owning on-call and incident management and driving a strong postmortem culture.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence engineering decisions across teams without direct authority.
- Preferred qualifications include multi-region or multi-cloud architecture experience, FinOps familiarity, exposure to SOC 2 or GDPR environments, and experience at a SaaS or data infrastructure company.
