Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML-powered solutions for customer needs.
- Architect and implement enterprise application integrations using Python, JavaScript, APIs, and microservices.
- Analyze complex datasets to inform solution development and product direction.
- Drive AI-augmented workflow automation in customer environments.
- Deploy AI solutions to production and oversee evaluation, monitoring, and improvement.
- Address AI risk assessment, data privacy, GDPR, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Communicate technical concepts and align solutions with business objectives and measurable results.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend software development experience.
- 5+ years delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in production, including founding or forward-deployed engineering experience in 0-to-1 product development.
- Deep expertise in applied AI/ML, generative AI, LLMs, and agent-based frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages, with experience in APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration.
- Experience solving complex, ambiguous problems in rapidly changing environments.
- Strong communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, and business-alignment skills.
- Experience with AI risk assessment, data privacy, and compliance such as GDPR.
- Preferred: experience with Atlassian Intelligence, Rovo AI, AI-powered Atlassian features, regulated industries, large-scale production AI deployments, or mentoring and leading engineering teams.
