Responsibilities
- Lead forward-deployed technical engagements and deliver tailored data science and integration solutions at defense, intelligence, and aerospace customer sites.
- Architect and implement enterprise integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or equivalent iPaaS tooling, including API design, development, and management across REST, SOAP, and event-driven patterns.
- Design and deploy workflow automation solutions using Regrello or equivalent orchestration platforms for complex operational processes.
- Build and integrate AI/ML models, data pipelines, automation flows, predictive maintenance systems, personnel-planning solutions, and logistics decision tools.
- Own the data lifecycle, including data modeling, ETL/ELT pipeline construction, feature engineering, analytics, and integration strategy.
- Support Authority to Operate and production go-lives in DoD IL5/IL6 and other regulated environments.
- Prototype and iterate on proofs of concept and MVPs with customer teams.
- Partner with internal engineering and product teams to develop reusable integration patterns, workflow templates, and data science capabilities.
- Mentor junior Forward Deployed Engineers and communicate technical roadmaps and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience delivering high-quality, scalable production solutions in hands-on end-to-end roles, ideally in customer-facing or field-deployed settings.
- Strong background in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Expert-level proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, MLOps pipelines, LLM integrations, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Expertise with enterprise integration and API-led connectivity platforms such as MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Dell Boomi, Apigee, or Azure API Management.
- Expertise with workflow orchestration and process automation platforms such as Regrello, Temporal, Prefect, or Apache Airflow.
- Proficiency with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Ability to lead technical engagements, mentor junior engineers, communicate complex concepts, and own delivery end to end.
- Ability to travel 50–75% of the time to customer sites, including classified facilities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen living on U.S. soil, must not hold dual citizenship, and must be eligible and willing to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include forward-deployed or field engineering experience, DoD/Intelligence Community or federal agency experience, defense or aerospace experience, IL5/IL6 familiarity, advanced MuleSoft or Regrello experience, event-driven and streaming data experience, and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
- Relevant preferred certifications include MuleSoft Certified Developer or Architect, Databricks certifications, AWS/GCP/Azure Data or ML Engineer certifications, and data science or analysis certifications.
