Base Salary
$260k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build shared infrastructure services and platform components for product and application teams.
- Architect, implement, and manage highly available single-tenant and multi-tenant Kubernetes platforms as a service.
- Develop internal infrastructure provisioning, management, and automation tools primarily with Go and Python.
- Build reusable cloud infrastructure patterns across AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
- Design shared event-driven architecture, messaging, CI/CD, service mesh, relational database, and distributed systems platforms.
- Manage shared infrastructure across multi-region cloud environments for global availability and performance.
- Establish centralized observability and monitoring platforms for self-service use by internal teams.
- Design documented RESTful APIs for infrastructure services and provide technical guidance to consuming development teams.
- Participate in on-call rotations supporting critical shared infrastructure.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Principal SRE focused on building tools and services for engineers.
- Deep production Kubernetes expertise, particularly with platform-as-a-service deployments.
- Strong Go and Python programming skills for backend services and infrastructure automation.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider; multi-cloud experience is preferred.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures, message queuing systems, CI/CD pipelines, distributed systems, multi-region platforms, observability systems, RESTful APIs, service meshes, and relational databases.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-centric approach toward internal development teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience or equivalent military experience.
