Base Salary
$91k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Execute MCA software revision and release scope, including requirements definition, documentation updates, design review planning, and verification and validation plans.
- Oversee end-to-end MCA software release activities and ensure system-level requirements are met through appropriate validation testing.
- Support requirements flow-down from system to subsystem level and conduct internal system and subsystem validation.
- Provide primary field and factory support for software installation on customer locomotives.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation activities before software release.
- Estimate engineering effort, manage priorities, set milestones, and drive projects to completion.
- Communicate program and project progress across all levels of the organization.
- Lead and motivate technical people while strengthening team effectiveness and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of safety-critical controls or embedded controls experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot product problems in high-pressure environments and estimate engineering effort.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical people, strengthen teams, and manage multiple priorities.
- Project or program management experience and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Preferred: working knowledge of INCOSE systems engineering best practices and Model-Based Systems Engineering.
- Preferred: knowledge of MCA control systems and software development and release processes.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of locomotive systems engineering experience, including new product development, requisition, and installed-base product support.
