Base Salary
$192k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Prevent, detect, investigate, respond to, remediate, and document security incidents across corporate and cloud environments.
- Participate in threat hunting, security exercises, and security alert investigations.
- Lead, scope, build, design, and maintain tools and systems supporting corporate security, detection and response, and infrastructure security.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to remediate security issues and prioritize them within SLAs and team backlogs.
- Improve secure system design, employee security behaviors, and security capabilities while contributing to Substation and the wider security community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training/fellowship, or 5+ years of work experience.
- Experience in corporate security, detection and response, or infrastructure security, including security alert triage and incident response.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems, DevOps workflows, and cloud environments.
- Experience deploying and maintaining security services and tools such as SIEM, data pipelines, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint tooling, email protection tooling, and cloud security tools.
- Coding experience is required, particularly with tools written in Go and Python.
- Bonus: proficiency with Go and other programming languages; experience securing distributed systems in AWS, cloud, and Kubernetes environments; and contributions to the technical community.
